About the Robert

Robert MacRae is, first and foremost, a huge nerd.

Beyond that, Robert MacRae grew up in central Ohio, studied theatre at the University of Kentucky, and currently lives in Los Angeles. Over the years, he has led many lives, ranging from dog walking to human tutoring to demigod training. Also—you’re not going to believe to this—he’s a lawyer admitted to the State Bar of California (shout out Loyola Law School class of ‘23).

He published his debut novel, Kingdom of Trash, in 2023 when he should have been studying for the Bar exam. He is also the co-founder of An Important Business Office, an independent theatre company producing absurd comedy around Los Angeles.

Most importantly, he and his partner have assembled a pack of four very good (if neurotic) dogs; Raincoat, Pascal, Persephone, and Paddington.

A man sitting on a chair holding a small axe, sitting in front of a Christmas tree, and petting a small black dog sitting on the arm of a green sofa.
A man with glasses and a septum piercing, wearing a black beanie and sleeveless shirt, taking a selfie in front of bookshelves filled with books, figurines, and collectibles. Text overlay says, 'WHAT UP, NERDS?'.
A man with a beard and a checked shirt smiling in a kitchen, holding an apple pie with the words '100% Gluten Free' spelled out in pie crust on top. There is another freshly baked pie with a lattice crust on the stove in front of him.
